It’s time for Fun Find Friday!
Where I share my favourite new things with you.
Hello there!
How’s everybody’s week been? I’ve been dealing with two jet lagged babies, and unpacking from moving house, so it hasn’t been the most restful week of my life to be honest.
However, maybe then this post will make a lot of sense to you, it’s about bedding! And all things being what they are, of course I am excited to have found some great new non-toxic bedding.
Non-Toxic Bedding in the UK.
I find the UK to be behind the US in a great many things, for example non-toxic skincare and make-up, or the availability of proper functional MDs, and I was expecting this to be true of non-toxic bedding also. However, when I was shopping for non-toxic nursery furniture and bedding I was pleasantly surprised to find it available, albeit in a very narrow variety. And now I have had the same experience with adult bedding and mattresses. Not a huge variety to choose from, but easily commercially available and not necessarily as eye-wateringly expensive as I expected.
Mattress Topper and Duvet.
I’ll write about mattresses next week I think, but today I am going to share a brilliant duvet and mattress topper that I found at John Lewis!
The company is called Devon Duvets, and they are a proudly homegrown British company using 100% wool for their products. Wool is naturally fire retardant, which means it doesn’t have to be chemically treated, and Devon Duvets also don’t use bleaches or other chemicals to treat their wool in processing.
I was also impressed by their ethics in regards to their animals.
Where to Buy.
You can buy their products from Amazon.co.uk or directly from their own website, but I found and bought mine through John Lewis, which was convenient as I bought some other things at the same time and had everything delivered together.
I feel like this reads a bit like a sponsored post, but (sadly for me I guess) it’s not. DD doesn’t know I’m writing this post and I paid for my products myself. I am however quite pleased to be supporting another small business, with what I feel are high standards and ethics.
You can read more about their story and their practices on their website here.
Tell me your favourite non-toxic home-wares!
Lastly, if anyone has any great recommendations for non-toxic products around the house, please comment and tell me! I’m always looking for new products in this area to try.
