Hello all and Happy Friday! It’s time for Fun find Friday, where I share with you my favourite finds and bits and pieces that I use or that might help you on your daily health journey.
Something a little different today, as it’s not food-centred, which a lot of my FFF posts are, for obvious reasons.
Today’s fun find is an accidental one. My friend and colleague, Nicky Duffell, shared a couple of cards on her social media with motivational quotes on, and she referenced this deck of cards called Yes Mum cards. The original deck is, you may guess from the name, for mothers who are battling through the daily grind of motherhood. But when I looked into it further, found they had several different themes, including one for wellness.
In true shopaholic form, I bought one (ok, several) of each pack. Christmas is coming up, I have a new-mum sister and a pregnant sister and between the three of us they just all seemed appropriate!!
But it turns out that the pack I love and use the most, is the Wellness pack. Every time I turn one of these cards over, it’s either really helpful for me personally, or it makes me immediately think of a patient and their struggles during that day or week.
These are simple little cards, with common sense wisdom. But sometimes, you just need to hear that one line that helps you with perspective or makes you think “You know what, I CAN do this!!”.
I also loved the messages for kids if you have little ones. Just in case you don’t automatically think to tell them something empowering every day.
It’s pretty amazing the power that words have.
I live and breathe health and healthy transformations every day. I consider myself to be pretty true to the path in general, after all these years. And yet I still feel really uplifted and ready to do that bit extra when I turn one of these cards over and read the message on it. And if I am feeling out of sorts; tired, stressed or run down – which is definitely when we’re most vulnerable and make our least-good decisions, these are a great help with turning that feeling around and choosing salmon and sweet potatoes instead of a big bag of potato chips!!
I think it would be great to have the ones that speak most loudly to you pinned up where you can see them if you’re at the beginning of your journey and struggling with breaking old habits and the new way of thinking and taking care of yourself. Or you could turn one over each morning before getting out of bed and start your day with a powerful message of health and healing and motivation.
What do you think? Do you feel like these would be useful to you personally? What do you use to motivate yourself?
